Directions and Parking

No Parking Zones***
will be strictly enforced. No parking in the lot for the Monona
Public Library, Monona Fire & EMS and the Monona City Hall. No all city
swim participants or guests can park in those lots. We will have staff monitoring
parking in those lots to control the access.

WINNEQUAH ROAD IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION FROM THE INTERSECTION OF WINNEQUAH ROAD AND BRIDGE ROAD AND SHOULD BE AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS
Directions
From the Beltline:
Exit at Monona Drive.
Travel north on Monona Drive to the intersection of Monona Drive and Nichols Road. This is the 3rd stop light. Turn left on Nichols, and continue for approximately 1 mile. The drop off for swimmers is in the parking lot on the west side of the pool and will be clearly marked. The parking lot will have one point of entrance and one point of exit for smooth drop off. You will need to drop swimmers off and continue out of the area.

From Downtown/Monona Drive:
Travel South on Monona Drive to the intersection of Monona Drive and Nichols
Road.
Turn right on Nichols, and continue for approximately 1 mile. The drop off for swimmers is just past the intersection of Nichols and Healy and will be clearly marked. The parking lot will have one point of entrance and one point of exit for smooth drop off. You will need to drop swimmers off and continue out of the area.

There are several parking alternatives for the 2006 All City Swim Meet (Parking
Map)
Coaches
& Officials:
Reserved Coaches and Officials parking will be located at the rear of Winnequah
Middle School, which is adjacent to the Monona Pool.
Enter off Nichols Rd.
Public:
Immaculate
Heart Church
parking is located at the rear of the church and can
be accessed by traveling west on Nichols to Shore Acres Road, turning right.
Head north on Shore Acres Road to the intersection of Shore Acres and Greenway.
Turn right into the Immaculate Heart of Mary parking lot. To get to the swimming
area, just walk west on Greenway until it ends. This is about 6 blocks away,
and you will end up at the back of tent city.
Monona
Methodist Church
has about 90 parking spots. Travel west on Nichols for about 1/2
mile. The church parking lot is on your left about three blocks before the
pool.
Maywood
Elementary School
has
about 70 parking spots. Travel west on Nichols about 3/4 of a mile from Monona
Drive. Maywood School is on your left one block before the pool.
Dream
Park
offers over 60 parking spots and is located directly two blocks
south of the pool on Healy Road. Dream Park also has a spectacular playground
for children.
Fireman’s
Park
offers
over 50 parking spots and is located on the north end of “tent city”
known as Fireman’s Park. To access this parking, proceed west on Nichols
to the intersection of Nichols and Winnequah Road. Turn right on Winnequah
Road until you reach Progressive. Turn right on Progressive and take an immediate
right again into the parking lot of Fireman’s Park.
Upper
Winnequah Middle School
has about 50 spots and can be reached by going
west on Nichols Road to the intersection of Nichols and Maywood. Turn right
on Maywood until you get to Greenway. Turn left on Greenway and take a left
into the driveway of the Winnequah Middle school parking lot. There is a walking
path which will lead directly to “tent city” and the pool area.
On
street parking
is available on both sidesof the street for Nichols Road, and both
sides of the street for Healy Lane which runs north and south and intersects
with the pool area.
Handicap
Parking
will be located at the Monona Community Center at 1011 Nichols
Rd. A State handicap parking permit must be presented for entry. First come
basis.
